Pyramids to Temples 


 

Cairo and Luxor

 (7 NIGHTS 8 DAYS) EXPERIENCE

Day 1 :

Arrive Cairo where you will be met on arrival and taken for a 2 night stay at the Sofitel Hotel, a 5* hotel in the Giza Pyramids area of Cairo, on a bed and breakfast basis.

Cairo is an amazing capital city and we have arranged for you to see all the most important sites

 

Day 2 :

Visit: Cairo Museum which houses over 200000 antiquities and of course the famous treasures of the Tutankhamun exhibition.

A stroll through the famous old bazaar of Khan El Khalili takes us to where we have lunch.  

Then on to the Citadel and the minarets of Muhammad Ali’s Mosque which towers above the Cairo’s skyline.

 

Day 3 :

Visit:  The Giza plateau – the home of the Great Pyramids and the only present day survivor of the Wonders of the Ancient World, built over 4500 years ago.

            The Sphinx, an ancient figure shrouded in legend and mystery.

Saqqara (where you can see the step pyramid of King Zosser which is the first most significant freestanding building of stone. Memphis (site of the ancient   Egyptian capital during the Old Kingdom). 

 

This night we travel by overnight sleeper train to Luxor.

Evening meal and breakfast is included.

 

Day 4 :

Arrive in Luxor where you will be taken to your hotel, Sheraton 5* or Mercure 4* for 4 nights.

Luxor has 17% of the monuments of the entire world.

The riverfront in Luxor is delightful.

Take a pleasant stroll along the Cornice late afternoon to sea the sun setting magnificently behind the pink Theban Hills across the Nile.

 Visit:

            Karnak Temple – which surpasses every other pharonic temple with over 40 hectares devoted to the gods. For 13 centuries successive pharaohs helped to make this the most magnificent temple complex in the country and in the entire ancient world.

            Luxor Temple – is well preserved because it was mostly covered by sand until the 19th century when the houses of the town were slowly cleared away from it.

 

Day 5 :

Visit the West Bank:

            Colossi of Memnon – are 2 statues 19.5metres high which once guarded the gates of  a mortuary temple now sit peacefully amid the sugar cane fields.

            Valley of the Kings and Queens – Entering the royal tombs at Thebes is like following the pharaohs on their journey to the underworld.

 

Day 6 :

Visit:

            Take a cruise down the Nile to Dendera one of Egypt’s best preserved temples.(lunch and After noon tea are included on board). Dep. 07:00 AM – Return 19:00 PM.

 

Day 7 :

Day of leisure               ( at leisure )

 

Day 8 :
