In
Egypt we find the earliest detailed records of warfare
recorded thousands of years ago but we also find the
cemeteries and monuments of the world’s last global war World
War II. In Egypt, we find some of the first written words
of civilisation but we also find great thinkers and writers
through the Greek period, into the Christian era, the archaic
Islamic period and even modern Noble Literates
Alexandria
is the second largest city in Egypt and known
as ‘The Pearl of the Mediterranean’ Founded by Alexander
the Great it has
a
Mediterranean ambience and cultural heritage
El
Alamein
is situated 70 miles west of
Alexandria. The Battle of
El
Alamein, 23rd October – 5th November 1942 was the decisive
battle of the North African campaign which lasted from 1940
until 1943. ‘
Before
Alamein we never had a victory. After Alamein we never had a
defeat’ Churchill.
Cairo
the capital is an amazing city and we have arranged for you to
see all the most important sites.
This will, I am sure, be a nostalgic trip for many, as the
words ‘El Alamein’ conjure up many thoughts and everyone
will have their own special private reasons for wanting to
make this tour. We shall endeavour to meet your individual
needs wherever possible.

Day 1

Arrival
and transfer to hotel (Sofitel Le Sphinx or similar).

Day 2 |

Optional:
visit the hanging church of old Cairo, the commonwealth War
Cemeteries, the citadel of Sallah Eldien and the mosque of
Mohamed Aly. |

Day 3 |
: |
Depart
to Alexandria 230 km, tour to Alexandria library and after
lunch on to Alamein Movenpick resort for an overnight |

Day 4 |
: |
Visit
the War Cemeteries and the War museum (if it is open as it was
under renovation), and overnight in Alamein |
|
Day 5 |
: |
Depart
to Alex. And
Optional
visit the Greaco roman museum, and the Catacombs, and
Pompays pillar. Overnight Alexandria

Day 6

Depart
To Cairo and visit the Cairo
museum, overnight sofitel or
similar.

Visit
the great pyramids and the
sphinx.

and lectures. Any price reduction for a large trip will be
